The Society of American Business Editors and Writers (SABEW) and the National Endowment for Financial Education (NEFE) are pleased to offer this year’s one-day Personal Finance Reporting Workshop in New York on Thursday, October 8, 2015 -- before the start of the SABEW Fall Conference at CUNY.

The SABEW-NEFE Personal Finance Reporting Workshop will offer insight into the most relevant personal finance trends and secrets of the industry. Expect to come away from this collaborative setting with innovative story ideas, an understanding of research initiatives in behavioral finance, an assessment of the future of personal finance, and new industry connections.

The workshop will be held at the TKP New York Conference Center in midtown Manhattan.

Session 1: State of Personal Finance in the Newsroom

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

The Wall Street Journal laid off much of its personal finance staff, and columnists are disappearing from local newsrooms across the country. Yet other media organizations are investing anew in PerFi. How will consumers get their pocketbook news in the future? Will they increasingly turn to websites like NerdWallet and Credit Karma, or financial planners and companies themselves? Is there still a place for personal finance writers in newsrooms, or will this become even more of a freelancers' world? Hear from veteran journalists representing diverse perspectives on this panel.
